BASF LH - 1971 - EU

A most unique and unusual design to house a single cassette tape by BASF. These cases were however meant to easily mail out a cassette tape anywhere. Iconic, historic, nostalgic and... Sealed! Never opened! 51 Years and counting!

About the tape inside... I checked it out. It looks fine and ready for use! Smooth tape but not shiny like a 1980's tape. That would be asking too much. The tape leader is good and firm with a good tight connection to the magnetic tape. The felt pad, at least in the one that I opened for pictures is surprisingly firm and looking good. Quality was a definite concern for BASF with this line of cassettes. These tapes were kept properly, away from dirt, excessive dust or humidity for over half a century now! These sure do look like excellent samples of these iconic cassettes.
