BASF LH EXTRA I - 1981 - EU

"Very well made and as good as any great Type I tape. BASF provided bulk tape to many duplicators at the time this cassette was in production, so you can be assured of the quality. Quality rich brown tape, smooth and shiny." Tony Villa

Note 1: 60 Minutes: White Label:
Lightly scuffed wrapper and one 1cm cut on the front (minor). The cassette looks perfect and sharp on the inside. SOLD
Note 2: 60 Minutes: B-Grade: Yellow Label:
This one displays the signs of a tape that was exposed to high humidity. The J-card looks sharp and clean, but label on the cassette itself does not. The case is cracked on both the front and reverse sides. See pictures. Sold as is. No returns. Only 1 available

It has a "Woolco" stores price sticker on it. Wrappers have very light scuffing it. Only 1 available
Note 4: 60 Minutes: Yellow Label:  It has "Woolco" stores price sticker on them. Wrappers have very light scuffing on it. SOLD
Note 5: 60 Minutes: Yellow Label:
It has a "Woolco" stores price sticker on them (2 actually!). Wrappers have very light scuffing on it. SOLD

Side Note:
These contain the famous SM Security Mechanism (Please do your research on SM, some cassette users open these tapes and remove the SM parts). Made in Germany 🇩🇪. These were distributed in North America (US, Canada) and these do not have a UPC code like the ones shown in the 45spaces.com website. UPC codes definitely showed up a year or two later.  RARE BASF cassettes. Why are these so difficult to find sealed?! Iconic "Woolco Canada" stores price sticker on them.

About BASF

BASF is a German chemical company founded in 1865, with a long history in the development of magnetic recording media. Its expertise in chemistry helped establish the company as an important name in open-reel tape and, later, the Compact Cassette.

During the cassette era, BASF offered a broad range of recording tapes, from everyday ferric models to chromium-dioxide Type II formulations. Its chrome tapes became a distinctive part of the range, valued by enthusiasts for their recording characteristics and their place in the history of cassette development.

BASF’s magnetic-media business later passed to EMTEC. Its recording-tape heritage remains an important part of the brand’s appeal, with surviving cassettes preserving a connection to one of the formative names in magnetic recording.
