The physical design of PDMagnetics cassettes changed notably between 1981 and 1983:
* The 1981 C60 cassette utilized the standard black shells common at the time.
* In contrast, the 1983 C90 cassette featured clear shells, which was unusual for a high-performance tape.

PDM stands for Philips-DuPont Media. 

PDMagnetics was a joint venture formed in 1968 by the Dutch electronics giant Philips and the American chemical company DuPont.
