Fuji FR-II - 1982 - US
A superb 1982 Fuji Type II, built with a precision‑made shell, cleanly cut pancakes, and a refined metallic label. During the 1980s, Fuji, along with the other top manufacturers, pushed for the highest possible standards, competing by delivering their very best rather than cutting corners.
Fuji ultimately became second to none in overall fit and finish. Their tape formulations are revered, their cassettes were assembled with meticulous Japanese precision, and four decades later they still stand out for their craftsmanship. Letting go of tapes like these is never easy.
