Sony Metal CDix IV 1992-97 - JP
This Sony Metal tape is probably of the same quality as the SR (North America) or the XR (Europe). It is an exquisite tape, one that has never made it through here before. All of these were made specifically for the Japanese market.

As the cassette era wound down, Sony gradually exited in‑house tape manufacturing and shifted its focus toward electronics, imaging sensors, gaming, and content creation. Unlike some of its competitors, Sony did not sell or transfer its tape‑manufacturing operations; the company simply wound them down as the cassette era ended. Yet its cassette legacy, from the everyday HF to the premium Metal ES, remains highly regarded.
