CRYSTAL 3300 - 1988 - US(JP)
Crystal 3300 90Z
A high‑grade Japanese chrome cassette privately labelled for a U.S. distributor in Endwell, NY. Built on Fuji’s SK‑50/56 export moulds with classic Fuji 6‑spoke hubs and very dark early‑80s CrO₂ tape. Obscure name, premium performance, a genuine sleeper chrome.
These tapes were meticulously put together:
A quality‑first oddity: beautifully cut pancakes, dark glossy tape, unmistakable Fuji OEM shells, and a writable‑side J‑card layout straight from TDK’s early‑80s designs. The “super fine magnetic particles developed in Japan” phrasing nods to That’s. Its plain wrapper and simple labels feel more like studio‑intended stock than retail packaging. Whether the tape inside is pure Fuji chrome or leftover HX‑S, HD8, or CD‑MH ends remains unknown, and that mystery is part of its appeal.
Collector's corner:
A scarce Japanese studio‑leaning cassette seldom seen in collector circles; offered here at a measured mid‑premium price well below the speculative figures it would likely command elsewhere. Priced with collectors in mind so this uncommon find remains accessible.
Note 1: 90 Minutes: Lightly scuffed wrappers. Very few available.
