Budweiser LN - Type I ~1999 - Japan

This is another one of those cassettes no one seems to know much about. It is one with very few clues. I opened up one cassette to see if I could get a clue based on the hubs, but no clue there, not for me (see pictures). The shell has a pattern that matches almost to a "T" the cassettes made by TDK between 1979 and 1984, but I would not dare suggest this tape is a TDK OEM. The overall quality of this tape is quite excellent. Good shells, label is on there perfectly with no air bubbles, and the magnetic tape itself has all the characteristics of a good tape. It is smooth, shinny, dark and the pancakes are smoothly cut. The tape also runs very freely inside the cassette.

Again, if you happen to find some Dead Sea scrolls that offer some good information of the true origins of this tape, ie. manufacturer and year of production, please let me know, and I will share it here with everyone else. You will be credited with any pertinent information you may provide, if you prefer it. The assigned year "1999", is merely an educated guess.

Note 1: 46 Minutes: These are brand new and sealed. Only 7 available.

About Budweiser:

Budweiser was first introduced in 1876 by Carl Conrad & Co. in St. Louis, Missouri, and quickly grew into one of America’s most recognizable beer brands.

By the cassette era, Budweiser’s marketing often included promotional merchandise that tied the brand to music culture. This Budweiser cassette is one such item, blending branding with globalized production. Its J‑card and wrapper were printed in Japan by Toppan Inc., a major packaging company based in Tokyo. SKC or even Saehan may have been behind the production of this tape, but it is a mere suggestion. Until proven otherwise, this cassette must be deemed made in Japan.
