Quality Checks:
These tapes were built with unusually high manufacturing precision.
1. Pressure pads are firmly mounted with no looseness.
2. Labels show no glue bleed and still adhere cleanly after 40+ years.
3. Tape is glossy and smooth; pancakes are even and consistent, a hallmark of accurate production.

Magnex was an Italian cassette manufacturer based in Garlasco, Lombardy, Italy, active from the late 1970s through the mid‑1990s. Known for high‑quality shells and reliable ferric formulations, Magnex produced both branded and OEM tapes for European distributors. The Studio LN series reflects early‑1980s Japanese design influence, aligning with a 1984 production date. Magnex had no connection to Audio Magnetics of Switzerland. Production declined after 1994, and the brand ultimately disappeared.

Problem: A split in the cassette hub clip that holds the leader tape was noticed on the one randomly chosen tape to show you pictures of, on this listing. Are they all like that? Maybe yes, maybe no, but I suspect there will more. Just in case yours has this problem, here are some suggestions to keep these awesome tapes good for another 43+ years...
Repair Instructions

Open the Cassette: Remove the four screws. Carefully pry the shells apart, starting from the top and moving down the sides, until you feel a gentle snap.

Apply Glue: Pull the hub just outside the cassette (keeping the leader tape attached) and apply a tiny drop of super glue (e.g., "Crazy Glue") over the split clip. Leave it alone and let it dry overnight. Do not try to remove any excess glue at this stage. Leave the hub over some plastic or metallic surface. Try to not use paper, cardboard may be ok to use.

Trim Excess: The following day, carefully remove any dried excess glue with a sharp razor knife over the split, if necessary.

Reassemble: Put all the components back together to restore the tape.

* Fee: $2.00 USD per batch of 1–5 tapes (e.g., 1–5 tapes = $2.00; 6–10 tapes = $4.00, etc.).
* Materials Fee Note: This minimal fee simply covers the single-use adhesive required for each batch, as tubes cannot be stored once opened.
* Packaging Notice: To complete the repair, outer wrappers will be neatly scored open along the edge and left attached to the case. You may keep or remove them upon arrival.
