3BASF LH EXTRA I - 1985 - EU

BASFs mid 80s Type 1.

Very well made and as good as any contemporary. BASF provided bulk tape to many duplicators at the time this cassette was in production, so you can be assured of the quality.

Note: The one single 60 Minutes tape has a very unusual pattern on its black shells. The sides have 1mm squares all around on the outside, while on in the inside it's a smooth finish with the label over it. It can be seen on the picture provided. Maybe it's common, but I have never seen it before. I can't tell if its a tape made in Brazil or made in Germany.

Note 2: The second set of 60 minutes tapes are made in Brazil with a full paper label pasted on either side of the shells.

Note 3: The 90 Minutes (B-Grade #013) have some blemishes on the wrappers. Still very clean and very collectible. Made in France. Generic picture shown.

Note 4: The regular 90 minutes tapes are Made in France and the wrappers are impeccable.

The company is currently expanding its international activities with a particular focus on Asia. Between 1990 and 2005, the company invested €5.6 billion in Asia, for example in sites near Nanjing and Shanghai, China and Mangalore in India.

BASF is listed on the Frankfurt Stock ExchangeLondon Stock Exchange, and Zurich Stock Exchange. The company delisted its ADR from the New York Stock Exchange in September 2007. The company is a component of the Euro Stoxx 50 stock market index.[7][8]
